Satellite Tracked Vulture Movements 22 – 29 December 2019

The latest movements of our Bearded Vultures; Jeremia and Mollie and our Cape Vulture; N207, for the past week, that are fitted with satellite transmitters and included in our monitoring program.

Sadly, no photos from our nest camera this week due to offices being shut down for the holiday season. We also have some bad news to end off this year: 15 Vultures were poisoned for the traditional medicine trade in Zululand this past week (14 African White-backed Vultures and 1 Lappet-faced Vulture) as well as a Cape Vulture killed in Lesotho, probably also for traditional medicine.

On that sad note, I wish you all, and our vultures in particular, a good 2020. We will need to step up our vigilance, conservation and education efforts!
